Elderplan Privacy Statement

Elderplan is committed to protecting your privacy online.

This website Privacy Statement describes Elderplan’s privacy practices regarding information collected from users of this website. We will make every reasonable effort to safeguard any information we collect. Elderplan does not sell your personal information, nor does Elderplan use or share your personal information except as described in this website Privacy Statement or as permitted or required by law.

What information will Elderplan collect?

You may choose to provide us with information, request that we send you information, have an Elderplan representative contact you about our services, or enroll in a plan offered by Elderplan using our secure online application form. Personal information will not be collected from you without your knowledge.

Linking to other sites

From time to time we will provide links to other websites not owned or controlled by Elderplan. We do this because we think this information might be of interest or use to you or where, as a member, we can provide you with value-added services. While we do our best to ensure your privacy, we cannot be responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. A link to a non-Elderplan website does not constitute or imply endorsement by Elderplan. Additionally, we cannot guarantee the quality or accuracy of information presented on non-Elderplan websites. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any website you visit.

What if I don’t want information about me to be collected?

Providing personal information through Elderplan’s website is an option. Additionally, personal information will not be collected from you without your knowledge and approval.

How will information collected about me be used?

Information you share with us will be used in a variety of ways that let us serve you better. We may also use this information to perform administrative, technical, hosting or other functions that help us manage our site and deliver new functionality to you.

We may share your information with our business partners as part of our normal business operations, for purposes of health care operations and payment activities.

Use of electronic mail

We may provide email links on our site to further facilitate communication between Elderplan and you. Information collected through electronic mail may be shared with our Customer Service Department, employees or other third parties that perform services on our behalf. Unless otherwise noted, electronic mail on our site is not a completely secure and confidential means of communication. Non-encrypted electronic communications may be accessed and viewed by other Internet users without your knowledge and permission while in transit to us.

Use of Text Messaging for Elderplan Surveys

Elderplan uses text messaging to periodically survey members about their coverage and care, which includes the Annual Relationship Survey. Before the Annual Relationship Survey is sent by Elderplan, members must opt-in. Only members who opt-in to receive the Annual Relationship Survey will receive it.

Use of Text Messaging for Benefit Updates and Health-Related Reminders

Elderplan uses text messaging to communicate with members about their coverage and care. Text messages may include, but are not limited to, benefit updates and health-related reminders. Elderplan will not contact you via text messaging for marketing purposes. When a text message is sent by Elderplan, members will have the option to opt-out of future text messages. All requests to opt-out of text messaging will be honored within 15 days and will prevent future text messages from being sent by Elderplan to that mobile phone number.

Elderplan also partners with other organizations to help us manage your care. These partners may also send text messages that could include, but are not limited to, health-related reminders and information about services you receive as part of your Elderplan coverage. Elderplan partners will not contact you via text messaging for marketing purposes. When a text message is received from an Elderplan partner, members will have the option to opt-out of future text messages from that partner. All opt-outs from text messaging will be honored within 30 days by our partners and will prevent future text messages from being sent by that specific partner to your mobile phone number.
