Start Using Your Elderplan Over-the-Counter (OTC) Benefits

Ways You Can Use Your OTC Benefit Card

Once you have activated your Elderplan OTC card, you can start enjoying your benefits. You can use your  OTC card to shop for approved items in person, online or by calling.

To Shop in Person:

  • Visit a participating retailer.
  • Shop for approved items. Approved items vary whether you have Traditional OTC or the Expanded OTC Benefit.
  • During checkout, use your OTC Card. Approved purchases will be automatically paid for up to your approved balance. Any remaining balance will require an additional form of payment.

You can also check if an item is covered by downloading the mobile app and scanning the item’s barcode.

To Shop Online:

  • Visit a participating retailer’s website.
  • Shop for approved items. Approved items vary whether you have Traditional OTC or the Expanded OTC Benefit.
  • During checkout, use your OTC Card. Approved purchases are automatically paid for up to your approved balance. Any remaining balance will require an additional form of payment. If you are shopping for OTC items at Walmart, you will receive free shipping for orders over $35. A personal debit or credit card is required for orders under $35.

Call to Place an Order:

  • Dial a participating retailer’s phone number.
  • Place an order of approved items. Approved items vary whether you have Traditional OTC or the Expanded OTC Benefit.
  • During checkout, use your OTC Card. Approved purchases are automatically paid for up to your approved balance. Any remaining balance will require an additional form of payment.

Track of Your OTC Benefit Balance

Any unused balance will automatically expire at the end of each benefit month or quarter, so you want to ensure you keep track.

Through our dedicated OTC Member Portal, you can:

  • Access benefit information and updates
  • Find eligible OTC items and participating retailers
  • View OTC card balance and transaction activity

Please use your 19-digit OTC card number to login into your account.

If you have Traditional OTC you can purchase eligible OTC medications, health and wellness items, first-aid supplies, and other qualifying products.

Home-Delivered Meals

If you have the Expanded OTC Benefit you can order nutritious meals delivered to your home:

Groceries and Fresh Produce

If you have the Expanded OTC Benefit, you can shop for approved groceries, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, seafood, dairy and juices.

OTC Bill Payment

If you are a member of Elderplan Plus Long-term Care or Elderplan for Medicaid Beneficiaries, you may be eligible to use your OTC allowance towards your internet, wireless and utility bills.
